How-to Change Visual Studio Color Schemes
January 24, 2007
I’ve noticed a lot of traffic related to my post on Visual Studio Color Themes so I thought I would run through a quick how-to.

[get the ball rolling. TOOLS... OPTIONS]

[make desired changes. click ok. view. repeat until happy. note: visual studio will save all environment settings that you make here - so you aren't just limited to font and color changes!]

[note that while you're in this dialog, it appears to offer an option for export/import settings, but I'll show you a better way.]

[clicking this will give you a much safer export/import alternative. you will also have more options to select from.]

[at this point you can choose to either export or import. if you are importing, visual studio will first prompt you to back up your existing scheme settings before replacing any settings.]

[this screen will ask you to select the exact settings to save... and then your done!]
the exported settings will be contained in one easy-to-manage file so take advantage and back up that file while you’re thinking about it!
